Public Policy

Strengthening Houston's thriving business environment is critical to our members' mission of making Houston the best place to live, work and build a business. At the Greater Houston Partnership, high-caliber business leaders bring their priorities, and together with the Public Policy Division, elected officials and community organizations, we shape solutions to the region's most pressing issues. As advocates for strong public policy at all levels of government, the Partnership works with our members to make Houston even greater.

Priority Issues

The Partnership's priority issues focus on advancing Houston as a great global city through strong policy that fosters long-term growth and upward economic mobility for the region.

Advancing economic development policy issues carrying tax and fiscal considerations

Developing policies that address cost drivers and obstacles to access quality care in greater Houston

Growing and strengthening the region’s higher-education-to-workforce ecosystem

Advancing immigration policies that support greater Houston’s growth and opportunity

Focusing on public education quality, school finance and outcomes

Developing policies conducive to Houston’s burgeoning digital tech ecosystem

Building a blueprint to meet the region’s transportation and infrastructure policy needs

Future of Texas
